FIELD GUIDE 16 / 35
Configure task progress and daily check-ins
Track an overall percentage or calculate progress from weighted team fields, with optional private daily reminders.
Product guide 3 sections
Enable progress for your team
- 01The current team owner opens the team management menu → Task Progress. Existing teams start Disabled; the independently collapsible section remembers your choice without losing unsaved changes.
- 02Choose Manual percentage for absolute 0–100 check-ins, or Weighted custom fields to calculate from existing active team fields. Choose all active members or only the assignee and owner as submitters, and whether a short note is required.
- 03Weighted criteria need positive weights totaling exactly 100%. Choose checkbox checked, a valid nonempty value, matching choice options, or a positive numeric target. Numeric targets contribute proportionally up to their allocated weight.
- 04Try sample values and tags in the live preview. Hidden criteria count as incomplete by default; alternatively exclude them and normalize remaining weights. No applicable criteria means Not applicable. Missing or archived criteria show Needs review, never 100%.
- 05Saving calculation changes recalculates current task progress, but history keeps the original percentage and configuration. If another tab changes settings, compare your retained draft and explicitly reload before saving.
Submit updates and read history
- 01Open a task from My Tasks, a team view or Calendar, then expand Progress. Its header shows current progress and whether today's team-local check-in is outstanding.
- 02In Manual mode enter the current overall percentage, not the amount added today. Corrections and lower percentages are allowed. Add a note and optional blockers, then choose Submit update. Weighted mode accepts narrative updates without a percentage override.
- 03Expand View history to read each author's local check-in date, actual timestamp, original percentage, notes and blockers. Open Original calculation context to see the rules used at that time.
- 04Progress and workflow status are independent unless the owner enables Mark task Done at 100%. A later check-in or relevant field edit can then complete a task through its normal transition. Saving settings never bulk-completes tasks, and lower progress never automatically reopens Done tasks.
- 05Moved tasks retain their historical context and use destination-team rules going forward. Recurring successors start without manual percentages or check-in history; weighted progress uses their retained field values.
Choose daily reminders
- 01The owner chooses No reminders, In-app only, or In-app and Slack DM, then selects a local time, IANA timezone, weekdays and recipient roles: assignee, task creator and team owner.
- 02Recipients are deduplicated and must still be active members. Unassigned tasks do not implicitly notify the owner: select creator or owner explicitly if wanted.
- 03Reminders apply to incomplete active tasks without a check-in that team-local day. Done, 100%, archived and not-applicable tasks are skipped. Any authorized check-in satisfies that task's daily check-in.
- 04Slack reminders are private DMs linking to the authorized web form. In personal Notifications settings, enable the Slack master switch and Task check-in reminders category. Due-date reminder and email preferences remain independent; this feature sends no email or desktop push.
- 05Saving team settings does not activate delivery infrastructure. If reminders do not arrive, ask the app operator to confirm the existing reminder and Slack workers are available; no Slack linkage still allows in-app delivery.
